Chasing the light... this is the medium in which all photographers work, whether it be the beautiful back lighting through autumn leaves of a fall afternoon or the subtle light of twilight on a summer evening. I have been so fortunate to work with and learn from some of the most gifted photographers. The common thread that connects them all is that they are more than willing to pass along their knowledge and experiences in order to help others grow and to develop (no pun intended) their craft. My absolute favorite part of teaching photography and furthering that tradition of those that assisted me is working in the darkroom. That's where the magic of print-making happens and it is such an amazing experience to see a students' visual interpretation for their image become reality.
The work represented here ranges from my most recent images from this year of Burmese immigrants in our community to work I have been doing over the past 30 years. I stay true to the principles that have guided my photography through each of these projects - it has been an amazing journey chasing the light so far!
