My photographic work spans 3 decades beginning with my degree work at Brooks Institute of Photography. I supplemented my work and education at Brooks Institute through workshops I attended that were offered through the Friends of Photography (unfortunately now closed). Having the opportunity to meet and work with some of the most renown photographers of the time truly influenced my work and helped establish my own vision. Photographers such as Eliot Porter, Philip Hyde, John Sexton, William Christenberry, Chris Rainier, and Linda Connor gave freely of their photographic experience and knowledge and exemplified the saying: "In photography, there are no secrets". Each photographer was willing to share how they created a particular image and inspired the participants to create their own unique vision. This same principle I continued and shared with students that were part of photography classes which I taught for 16 years at Cascia Hall Preparatory School. Having the students be able to experience the magic of working in a darkroom and producing beautiful silver prints was a wonderful opportunity - for them as well as myself. In this fourth decade of my work I am continuing with the vision of symmetry, simplicity, and connection within the elements of the images I make.
